Iteration, in project management, is the concept of gradually developing an end product over time. In an iterative approach to project management, the project is broken down into small sub-sections ('sprints' in software development) that are bound by time rather than scope. In each section, a part of the end product is developed within the time frame. This approach works best when the requirements are ever-changing and the end product is not completely known.
